As my contribution to youth and to Christians, I also offer Speaking engagements for university students of Christian Universities at no charge.
With this in mind I have prepared a program of interactive discussions particularly for Christian students who will be entering the work force in the near future. I provide students with detailed case histories depicting what to expect in the roles of employees and how to meld into the business world as Christians, not an easy task sometimes in business these days. I have been a devout Christian for many, many years and have taught students of all ages including adults.
The theme for upcoming presentations is “Christians in Business - Knowledge is Key” and just as the keys given Peter by Christ were dynamic tools requiring action, so does this key of knowledge require action in order to benefit from it. On this page you will find sample Discussion/Lessons and Introductory Sessions providing the foundation for a series of further discourses. Click here or Christian Universities button above.
All students from any university will gain from learning inside industry knowledge before they encounter situations on the job, it can be a tremendous advantage and I am more than pleased to share what I know with them.
Christian university students already have a tremendous advantage but how much more quickly they will advance if they enter the workforce already familiar with standard (and obscure) policies and procedures practiced by industrial corporations all over the world?
Some of the questions answered in the discussions will include:
·What are managers and supervisors looking for in new employees?
·What are managers and supervisors looking for in prospective managers?
·What are the basic policies and procedures when it comes to departments like Procurement, Quality Assurance, Document Control, Administration, Engineering and Production?
·How is every department in an organization affected by the Procurement Department?
·How do you get the most out of your Purchasing Department?
·How can you become noticed? (in a positive way of course)
·How do you get the most out of your customer?
·What are some of the pitfalls in the workplace to watch out for?
·Why are Christians in high demand for management positions?
I am presently booking sessions for February/March 2007 in order to answer these and other questions and would like to offer you a speaking engagement gift if you are interested. There are three options you may wish to consider before making a decision.
·Option One: Because I must charge a fee to industrial and non Christian institutions, Christian Universities may have a short wait for the lecture until a paying customer in your city has booked (and paid for) a lecture before you can capitalize on a free speaking engagement when I arrive in your area.
I beg for two conditions in conjunction to this offer. One is that the university donate a generous $300.00 gift to a Christian missionary organization such as Outreach International. Second, I request that students be offered the opportunity to purchase my book either before or during the lecture. (soft cover price $18.00 USD) This would be helpful to all, as the foundation for most discussions will be taken from each chapter. It would also assist in offsetting some of the direct costs incurred when traveling. Thank you for considering Option One.
·Option Two: Joint effort. If your budget permits it … or if your schedule demands it, you might wish to contact another university or even an industrial manufacturer in your area and inquire if they would be interested in a joint venture in bringing me to the area for a very worthwhile engagement for both students and staff. The price for non Christian lectures is found on the “Need a Speaker” page of this website. You could split the costs with a partner and not break your budget.
Format and content would differ for a non Christian lecture, so two separate discussions would be required unless the non Christian facility was interested in learning how Christians behave in business these days. Either way, the cost would be split by two parties instead of one. Thank you for considering Option Two.
·Option 3: Should your budget permit it and if you do not wish to wait for a non Christian facility in your area to book, you may choose to budget the entire cost as would a non Christian facility and book me at your earliest convenience. In this case I would humbly request that a reduced donation of $100.00 be made to Outreach International as previously outlined. Under this option the net profit from every book sold during my visit would be donated to the same missionary organization as chosen by the college. Books can also be ordered in advance prior to my arrival. Thank you for considering Option Three.

Christian University Event Planner
Dear Christian University Event Planner,
Hi,
I’m Malcolm Mills, retired from a 20+ year career in corporate Procurement.
Since leaving the industry in 2006 and in an attempt to share some of this fascinating and useful “hands on” knowledge, I have authored the book “It’s a Tough World Out There …”. The book is based upon two decades of hard won experience in the world of corporate (and other) Procurement, Warehousing, Expediting, Quality Assurance, Logistics, Production and Sales practices.
It’s been exciting work. I have worked in Gas and Oil, Mining, under military sub contracts, in Pulp and Paper, ship repair and aircraft composite part manufacturing to name the more major industries.
Event Planners,
